Earlier this month, we announced Mike Jonas’s appointment from President of Global Customer Operations to CEO of LightRiver! He recently sat down with JSA to reflect on his 20+ years with us, the solid foundation that his predecessor, Glenn Johansen, laid for the company and what he sees in LightRiver’s future.
In the interview, Mike hints at some exciting plans. He predicts a strong focus on increased collaboration with sister companies in the Grain portfolio, with a particular emphasis on broadband. Furthermore, he sees LightRiver expanding its reach internationally as the appetite for bandwidth continues to grow around the world. He foresees that LightRiver’s network delivery solutions are set to play an integral role in connecting the world.
Mike also touched upon some of the trends shaping the telecommunications and optical networking industry. Open and disaggregated networking, automation and collaboration are all taking center stage. In an “everything as a service” world, he sees these trends to be instrumental in driving the industry forward.
