As INDATEL continues to evolve our service offerings, we recognized the need to modernize portions of our network infrastructure and improve the operational processes that support it. While our existing network was working great, we wanted to create a more scalable, resilient, and well-documented environment that would better support future growth.  

To support that effort, we engaged LightRiver’s flexOPS® team as an additional set of technical eyes to review our approach, validate our requirements, and confirm alignment with our operational objectives.

One of the key initiatives was validating our planned network architecture redesign. Our environment has historically operated as a largely flat Layer 2 network, which limited flexibility and introduced operational challenges. Working with LightRiver, we confirmed the approach for transitioning toward an IP/MPLS-based architecture designed to improve resiliency, failover capabilities, and overall network efficiency, all while leveraging our existing hardware investments.

Another important focus area was documentation and network visibility. Like many organizations, some of our processes relied on spreadsheets and institutional knowledge accumulated over time. LightRiver reviewed and helped strengthen our network documentation, IP address management, and infrastructure planning. This work has given us significantly greater visibility into our network and established a framework for more consistent operations moving forward.

Beyond architecture and documentation, the engagement helped us validate and expand valuable automation capabilities. Based on our requirements, LightRiver developed processes that streamline network configuration generation and reduce manual effort, allowing our team to work more efficiently while improving consistency across the environment.

The partnership also delivered practical operational value. LightRiver provided an additional layer of technical review during critical network upgrades, helped validate procedures in a lab environment, and shared knowledge with our engineering team. Their collaborative approach helped confirm our processes and reinforced our team’s ability to confidently manage similar activities in the future.

What stood out most throughout the engagement was LightRiver’s team mindset. They worked alongside our team as a trusted technical resource, providing a valuable second set of eyes as we addressed immediate challenges and prepared for future initiatives. The result is a more resilient network, improved operational maturity, and a stronger foundation for continued growth.
