Salary Range

$90 – $110k

Job Summary

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the deployment of high-speed, complex packet networks. They will work with Project Management to oversee and execute Service Team projects, serve as technical lead and force multiplier for customers and Field Engineers, understand and fulfill the Statement of Work and customer requirements, and enable Field Engineers to be successful through training and preparation.
Network Engineers will work on engineering tasks including, but not limited to, product validation, design verification, new technology education/training, fiber optic trace analysis, equipment commissioning and testing, and remote technical support.

Subject Matter Expert on Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, Juniper

  • Have advanced knowledge on multiple switching and routing platforms
    • Primary technologies to include Carrier Ethernet and MPLS variations
  • Work with Sales & Systems Engineering teams to develop advanced designs for customer networks
  • Advise customers on best practices for their networks

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced functions in the factory & field to support the design, commissioning, installation, integration, and testing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks
    • Primary technologies to include Carrier Ethernet and MPLS variations
  • Continually train on new technologies related to Packet networking
  • Be an expert at completing the following tasks:
    • Equipment Integration
      • Advanced knowledge of provisioning on multiple packet platforms
    • Network Test & Turn-up
      • Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting and testing packet networks
  • Work with other Field Engineers and Project Engineers to ensure projects are completed accurately & efficiently
  • Provide training to junior employees beginning their packet networking career

Qualifications

  • Mid-level vendor certifications:
  • 4+ years of packet network configurations and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with the general architecture requirements for Carrier Ethernet and MPLS networks
