Salary Range
$85 – $115k
Job Summary
In this position, the Project Manager (PM) will collaborate with customers, the engineering and field services teams, and LightRiver management, to deliver the services sold by the sales team. The PM may also be tasked with managing and delivering internal deliverables and projects.
The PM will provide leadership within the team developing the delivery strategy, sourcing resources for the project, ensuring successful collaboration of the project team, and communicating effectively with the customer.
The PM will exercise pro-active judgment and creativity in resolving resource, technical, and scheduling issues encountered during project delivery to meet and exceed customer expectations.
The PM will work independently in the office or remotely, tracking successful completion of work tasks, ensuring clear communications between LightRiver team and customer, and maintaining work delivery according to agreed-upon schedules and standards.
The PM will serve as a primary point of contact for customers during projects. The PM will facilitate regular status meetings and provide written status updates. They will facilitate escalations, track progress, and manage risks to project timelines and budgets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This is the professional level position has responsibilities in the three (3) disciplines:
- Planning – Work Planning and Resource Sourcing:
- Ensure clear definition of the scope of the project in collaboration with sales and management.
- Create a detailed project plan which identifies and sequences the activities, resources, and equipment needed to successfully complete the project including dates, durations, and dependencies.
- Work with the Field Services team and Engineering Team to acquire resources with the appropriate skill sets and experience to complete project tasks.
- Work with staffing partners to acquire external resources with the appropriate skill sets and experience to complete project tasks.
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Establish project budgets and timelines.
- Execution – Schedule Tracking and Remediation:
- Execute the project according to the project plan.
- Track delivery of work against the project schedule.
- Identify risks and remediate any schedule slippage, resource shortage, and /or equipment delivery issues.
- Facilitate escalations with internal and customers resources as necessary to keep projects on time and on budget.
- Maintain and share project documentation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.
- Conduct regular project status meetings with customers and provide written status update emails outlining project activities and risks.
Lead project kick-off and close-out meetings.
- Project Finalization – Documentation and Quality Assurance:
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
- Ensure final documentation (as-builts) is created and delivered to customers.
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions as needed upon project completion.
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
Qualifications
- BS/BA Degree
- 2+ years of extensive hands-on experience in project management.
- 2+ years hands-on expertise in project planning methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Direct experience in project management software such as MS Project, SmartSheet, Monday, Jira)
- Strong experience in MS Office Suite including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Project management related certifications are considered a plus (PMP, CAPM, ITIL, CSM)
Preferred Skills
- Forklift certification and familiarity with material handling equipment.
- Experience with lean warehousing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices.
- Background in telecom or technology hardware logistics a plus.
Work Environment
- Ability to work during normal business hours (8-5) in employee’s time zone.
- Remote work involves significant audio and video conferencing meetings.
Physical Demands
- Work in an office environment performing normal office duties including computer/desk work, printing, document assembly.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
