Overview

LightRiver is seeking a skilled and motivated Technical & UX Content Writer to join our Software Solutions team. This is a full-time, permanent position focused on creating, maintaining, and enhancing product documentation while helping to shape the voice, tone, and user experience of our software products, including netFLEX, Prism, and nIO.

Salary Range

$75 – $100k

About the Role

This role will collaborate with the Product, Engineering, Design, and Support teams to deliver high-quality documentation that supports internal teams and customers. You will become an expert in LightRiver’s technical software products, optical networking, and play a critical role in improving how we deliver product information, troubleshooting guides, release documentation, in-app communication, and UX copy standards for our software suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical documents such as install manuals, release notes, admin troubleshooting guides, and server sizing requirements.
  • Create and manage context-sensitive help and documentation repositories, review and contribute to all in-app communication and help establish consistent guidelines.
  • Work closely with internal teams to gather source material and validate documentation accuracy.
  • Support AI-based document repository initiatives by helping structure content for natural language search.
  • Drive improvements in documentation processes, tools, and UX copy practices.

What you will Document

  • Internal and external support documentation
  • Server sizing and network scaling models
  • Installation and configuration procedures (Linux, Postgres, multi-server architectures, geographic redundancy)
  • Product release features and updates
  • Workflow and troubleshooting processes
  • In product communication, user guides, and work with design for UX copy standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in technical software or networking
  • Experience working alongside software engineers or in a software engineering environment
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with documentation tools and content management systems
  • Optical networking knowledge is highly desirable
