Summer couldn’t have a better kick off each year, than when it’s accompanied by Telecom Exchange NYC. The 2018 event was held in Hoboken, NJ on June 20, bringing the industry’s top thought leaders together. Mike Jonas, President of Global Customer Operations, had the pleasure to sit down with JSA TV’s Dean Perrine to discuss the latest netFLEX® software upgrades and more.
In case you missed it: LightRiver was recently recognized as a Top 10 SDN Solution Provider by Enterprise Networking Magazine. Mike noted, “SDN and network automation don’t just pop out of a box. You’ve got to figure out how to make it work. The depth of knowledge we’ve been able to bring to the hardware and software sides have allowed us to help a number of customers to start move down the path of software-defined networking and automation and that’s why we were recognized as a top SDN solution provider.”
Basically, LightRiver has been able to marry the hardware and software technologies so well that we’ve been able to propel our technologies and more importantly our customers’ efficiency.
Continuing the interview, Mr. Jonas discusses the latest netFLEX® upgrade. He stated, “The churn of technology is quickening. The whole industry is innovating in months, not years. We recently significantly expanded the deployments we have with Linux.” The new netFLEX® software release 3.8.0 leverages the most widely deployed server OS to monitor alarms, automatically discover, troubleshoot, analyze and provision L0/L1 services across multivendor optical networks, with L2 fault management extensions. “We are tracking evenly, if not ahead, of the technology curve,” said Mike Jonas.
