The Documentation Specialist will work under direction of engineering staff & management to generate, edit, and proofread both internal and external technical documents. Key responsibilities will include generating documents by consolidating information from various sources, presenting documents to the engineering team, updating documents with field alterations, and supporting various documentation generation needs.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers and other members of the Professional Services Department to continuously improve company documentation standards
  • Gather information from Project Managers, Field Engineers, and Sales Engineers to construct and update technical network documentation
  • Upload all documentation to SharePoint or customer repository such as Google Drive
  • Assist other departments, as needed, to create spreadsheets or other forms of documentation as requested
  • General engineering team support: hosting weekly calls, capturing meeting minutes
  • Training new hires on documentation process & standards as well as providing training support on documentation

Skills Required

  • Technical ability, including but not limited to knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to understand, create & edit technical documents (training provided by engineering as needed)
  • Workload prioritization – maintaining deliverables schedule and prioritizing customer deliverables to meet associated deadlines
  • Detail oriented – documents often contain hundreds of critical items that need to be cross referenced & validated.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail is a critical job requirement
  • Communication skills, both written and oral, are a necessity
  • Teamwork and ability to work with others in time-sensitive and stressful situations
  • Knowledge of SharePoint/OneDrive
  • Microsoft PowerBI, Teams, Project experience a plus

Hourly Rate Range: $24 – $26
