1FINITY™ S100 Switch
The 1FINITY S100 Switch is an ideal solution for carrier-grade Layer 2 switching and 1 GbE/10 GbE to 100 GbE Ethernet aggregation. The Ethernet aggregation capability is especially important given the trend to 100/200G line rates on optical transport systems. With the 1FINITY S100, service providers have an aggregation solution that serves growing applications such as wireless backhaul and data center interconnect, as well as traditional switching. Overall, the 1FINITY S100 Switch provides Ethernet aggregation in a low-entry cost, pay-as-you-grow approach that maximizes rack space and enables evergreen technology with its compact 1RU design.
The 1FINITY™ S100 Switch is a modular, blade-based switching platform for networks requiring 1 GbE/10 GbE to 100 GbE aggregation for MEF E-Line and E-LAN services. This high-density Ethernet aggregation switch provides Layer 2 switching and forwarding and offers 1.2 Tbps/1.44G pps bidirectional packet switching capacity. The blade is equipped with up to four pluggable modules, initially supporting the following combinations:
- 12 × 10G/OTU2 SFP+ PIU
- 12 ×1G/10G SFP+ PIU
- 3 × 100G CFP4 PIU
- 1 × 100G CFP2-ACO Narrowband PIU
The 1FINITY S100 Switch also simplifies operations with ITU-T Y.1731 for performance monitoring; IEEE G.8031 or G.8032 for sub-50 millisecond switching and link aggregation; and Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (MC-LAG) for facility and equipment protection.
The scalable blade architecture of the 1FINITY S100 can be used with existing FLASHWAVE® 9500 and FLASHWAVE CDS deployments, along with the 1FINITY T200 Transport blade. In various combinations, the 1FINITY S100 and 1FINITY T100/T200/T300 blades can transport 1 GbE/10 GbE and 100 GbE services on 100G or 200G optical wavelengths.
