Salary Range

$80k – $125k DOE

Job Summary

  • Develop and enhance Prism, LightRiver’s AI-powered network management platform, to optimize performance for global optical networks.  
  • Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to design, test, and deploy features that automate network operations and improve customer experiences. 
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines (using Python, SQL, and GCP) to enable real-time decision-making for Prism’s users. 
  • Analyze network data from diverse sources, create visualizations, and present insights through reports, dashboards, and tools. 
  • Learn industry best practices by contributing to code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions with senior team members.  
  • Assist in adapting machine learning models (e.g., LLMs, NLP, predictive analytics) to solve challenges like downtime prediction or capacity planning.  
  • Support cross-functional projects, such as integrating AI tools into customer-facing applications or internal analytics platforms.  
  • Optimize LLM performance through prompt engineering, context augmentation, and retrieval techniques (e.g., RAG) for network automation and analytics. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, or other quantitative disciplines. 
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively.  
  • Experience with generative AI/LLMs . 
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and scripting.  
  • Proficiency in data science tools (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter) and data visualization (matplotlib, seaborn). 

Nice to Have

  • Experience in API development. 
  • Experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face) or prompt engineering techniques.  
  • Experience with version control (Git) and containerization (Docker).
