Microwave Transport Definition

Microwave transport is the transmission of information or energy by electromagnetic waves whose wavelengths are measured in small numbers of centimeters; these are called microwaves.

Microwave radio is one of the most flexible solutions and with five 9s reliability of current systems, a good fit for mission-critical networks including utilities, telcos, wireless backbone, public safety, transit authorities and private networks.

Why Microwave Radio?

  • Cost Effective – in many cases a good capital and operational alternative to leasing facilities or building out fiber
  • Flexible – can be deployed where land-based facilities can’t
  • Scalable – most systems can be easily scale from a few DS1s up to an OC-3
  • Reliable – five 9s of reliability over long distances
  • Multiservice – system support TDM as well as IP-based services
